Community Advocate and Ward 4 Resident Pledges to Bring Transparency, Public Safety, and Economic Growth to City Hall
San Bernardino, CA – Joe Salas, a longtime resident, small business advocate, and community organizer, has officially announced his candidacy for San Bernardino City Council, Ward 4. With deep roots in the community and a commitment to restoring trust in local government, Salas enters the race with a focus on neighborhood safety, economic revitalization, and responsive representation.
“As a resident of Ward 4, I see the challenges our families face every day—rising crime, lack of job opportunities, and the need for real leadership,” said Salas. “I’m running to give our neighborhoods a strong voice at City Hall, to invest in our local economy, and to make public safety a top priority.”
Salas brings over 15 years of experience working alongside community groups, small businesses, and local youth programs. He has earned a reputation for getting things done—organizing neighborhood cleanups, advocating for street and park improvements, and helping launch initiatives to support at-risk youth.
His campaign is centered around three core pillars:
- Economic Development: Develop downtown and attract new retail and commercial projects to revitalize the local economy.
